Happy Easter

Well, things have been quite crazy around here. This post will be a tour of recent pictures from my phone.

Here's my coal-faced hubby! This is after he showered at work. Most days he comes home a little bit cleaner. He cracks me up.

This scary looking thing is my left calf. One day a few weeks ago it started hurting like a charlie horse. The next morning I woke up at 4:30 and it felt like it was on fire! And it was swollen and purpley with this weird rash. So I went to the ER. That was super fun. As soon as I walked in, they started rushing me to labor and delivery. Eventually they figured out that I was not in labor. I was tired and confused, or I would have understood why they were worried. Anyway, they did an ultrasound on my legs to see if I had a blood clot. They didn't find anything, so the doctor said it was probably a cyst that was being obnoxious. He threw some muscle relaxers and pain killers at me and sent me home. Percocet for an aching leg? I did not fill those scripts.
Sorry if that grosses you out...

These next two pictures depict how Little Easy became Little Crunchy.

I was stopped in a right-turning yield lane at a busy intersection waiting for traffic to clear when Bang!! Some crazy man crunched me and my car. You should have seen his face when I stepped out of the car. "Ahhh!! You're pregnant!!!!" I imagine that a pregnant lady is the last type of person you'd like to smash with your car. Hurray that our little baby and I were not hurt! I did go to the hospital to make sure everything was alright. They kept me there for a long time with an IV trying to slow down contractions though. I guess my little body spazzed out from all the stress. The contractions weren't doing anything, but they didn't want to send me home when they were 3 minutes apart. It has been such a gigantic headache to sort everything out. Luckily, the accident wasn't my fault. I feel like I need to keep saying that. Not my fault! My little car was totalled and we have been car shopping. I must say, its my least favorite type of shopping. Also, I really REALLY don't like insurance companies. Pretty much everyone I've had to deal with has been unpleasant and unhelpful. Also, they tried to raise our premiums $160/month. Idiots. On the plus side, I'm not stranded 12+ hours a day while Mark is at work! After we got the police report (a week later) I was able to rent a car.

So, that's been yucky. I'm still feeling a little sore, but its hard to say what is the fault of being very pregnant (4 weeks left!) and what is from the accident.

Next... I cut my hairs off! My hair was tickling my elbows so I decided it was time to go. The only thing holding me back had been Mark's wanting me to keep my long hair. Then one day at work, he got into some sticky terrible foam. Little flecks ruined his clothes and hair. So I had to shave his head. To make things even, he said I could go ahead and cut my hair.
The funny face is because everyday I send Mark a picture of my silly face while he is at work. So the only pictures of me lately have been similar to this. But there's my new hair.

This is a diaper bag I made! I love it. It has pockets on the outside, a magnetic snap, shoulder pad, large and small pockets inside, and a rigid bottom for support. I love it and I'm so proud! It's pretty girly so I'm thinking Mark won't want to carry it very much. We'll see.
I love Alabama! Spring has been here for what seems like months! This picture was taken in our parking lot. I love the green here.
I love the shopping that involves buying Tiny clothes! These are from a recent purchase that I happened to snap on my phone. We're getting pretty close to having everything ready when she decides to become Outside Tiny rather than Inside Tiny. I know, we're so weird. Somehow, we still haven't set up her crib. I want to rearrange our bedroom to make a sort of baby corner and that involves a lot of furniture moving. Poor Mark is not home very much, so it becomes the last thing that I want him to do. On the plus side, we were invited to eat at the big boss' house last week. It was awesome because everyone there was upper management except for Mark. It was fun to meet people that Mark works with. Plus, I love to see people's giant houses on Lake Tuscaloosa. It was beautiful! There was lots and lots of alcohol, and plenty of smoking, so that was interesting.
One fun thing that we have been doing is collecting coins. Mark has always collected neat coins and I've always wanted to, so its been really awesome! We just get a few things here and there from Amazon. We've been into a few pawn shops looking because there are so many in town, but they just like the pure silver or gold things that are pricey. My very favorite coin that we have is a walking liberty quarter from 1929. Also I love the really old coins. We have a penny from 1817 that is bigger than a quarter. Its so fun!

I hope that your Easter was wonderful! Mark had the day off so that was very nice. Church was excellent. We finished up taking the Marriage and Family Relations class, and I was released from my primary calling! So now I'm just a family history center consultant. I'm not sure what they are planning to do around my having a baby, but I guess we'll see. Mark is the Sunday school president, so we've been loving his Sunday-only calling.

The other day I found out that if I got in my car, it would take 6 hours 24 minutes to drive to where Christian is living in Shreveport, Louisiana. I really miss my cute brother. But I'm so proud of him! Can you believe we're so close? Yet so far apart. Mark's brother Tyler received his mission call! To North Carolina. He'll be so close to us, too! We can all speak Southern together.
