This month was great! We're still settling into our new house. Evelyn loves the stairs so much. She even discovered a way around the gate. Scary. We're working on fixing it. So far, we've just been putting increasingly heavy things in front of that gap.
My lovely mother came to visit! Evelyn actually let my mom hold her right off the bat, which is a huge improvement.
Evelyn getting pampered with a lotion foot rub.
We have seen lots of funny animals in our yard, many differently colored birds and frogs, and a bunny (more on him in a minute).
Well, I followed my mom to Vegas. We had a good time. Here's their welcome home sign for mom.
Shocking! Evelyn playing on the stairs!
Yummy Suckers!
Two cousins. I never managed to get a smiley picture of both of them at the same time. Evelyn's hair was crazy the whole trip.
"I'm hiding from that Evelyn."
Evelyn said her first word besides mom and dad.... "Cat!"
Frodo the cat was so good with Evelyn.
On our way home to Alabama, we had an eight hour layover in St. Louis. It worked out really well. We found a nearly abandoned section of the airport by a chapel to play in.
This bird was taking a bath in the gutter on the other side of the window. Evelyn was fascinated.
Here we are in the closed section of the airport. No one kicked us out, so we had a good time running around and getting the wiggles out. I think, though, that wiggles beget wiggles.
She's a feet-up kind of girl.
Pushing all the buttons
The first three hour flight was perfect. But after that super long day in the airport, Evelyn was done. There were some nice people all around to look at and play with, though. Here's Evelyn sticking her arm through the gap to play with the people behind us. There was very little crying, and a lot of mess-making with the snacks. I was very pleased with how easy the whole experience turned out to be by myself.
She even wiggles in the night.
A couple of weeks ago, we saw many tiny strawberries growing under our shed. I was pretty excited, but now they're all gone! When Mark mowed the lawn last, a cute little rabbit ran out from under the shed. He looked fat with strawberries. Oh well. I would be too afraid of snakes to actually pick them myself, I guess.
Not quite old enough for sidewalk chalk. I bet we're building a great immune system, though. She's always eating dirt and grass. Oops.
Sometimes the only way I can get her to take a nap is to put her in the wagon and go for a ride.
Evelyn looks like she would get along perfectly with Alex. They seem so alike!
