Aquarium

We decided to spend a couple day in Atlanta. Here are some pictures of us at the Georgia Aquarium.

If Evelyn looks grumpy, its because she was getting over a virus and super grumps.

Here love of critters is not limited to the furry kind. Here she is loving the sting rays.

Seriously guys, where's my food?

She only wanted the parent that was not currently holding her. There was a lot of jumping back and forth.
But really, she had a great time. She loved being on the ledges and saying "hi fishy!"
On the moving sidewalk going through a tunnel with manta rays and other ocean fish swimming above you.
A fish coming to say hi.

This trip only increased Mark's desire for a fish tank.

The girl loves her belly button.

I sat next to her on the ride home. She's spoiled, and it was very peaceful.
We love her blue eyes.

Things are getting Christmasy

Here are some pictures that I took with my new Christmas present... a camera.
Mark gave it to me before Christmas. And told me about it before that.
He's not good at holding secrets in.

This was an impromptu thing. The girl was cooperating so I went with it. Clearly, she had been playing with the tree.

Early morning snack:

I attempted a really Christmasy photoshoot, but Evelyn didn't feel like smiling. Sheesh, we just got home from church!

Oh well. Maybe tomorrow?

Vacation

For Mark's vacation, we decided to go to Gulf Shores. It was awesome.

We went in the middle of the week so we pretty much had the place to ourselves.

First time in the ocean

 Free!
One of the ways to get the girl to smile at the camera is by first sticking your tongue out.
 Feeding dad Cheetos.
Also, I gave one little cheeto to a seagull who was bothering me and suddenly hundreds of seagulls are flying at me. It was terrifying. Never feed the birds.
We went to Target and Evelyn saw this ball. She had to hug it. "Ball" is her favorite word after "cat" and "dog."
We watched the sunrise on the beach. That was my favorite part of the trip. So beautiful and peaceful.

There is a little zoo in Gulf Shores that we had to check out. It was good. You could feed the farm animals, so they'd come right up to the fence to beg for food. The girl loved the cats.

It was very sticky there. You can see Evelyn's hair is plastered down.
Mark did not approve of feeding the animals. Especially since Evelyn let them lick it right out of her hands. She thought it was hilarious.

 Tiger kitten
She refuses to hold hands most of the time. Good thing we weren't fighting crowds.

Afterwards, we went to the beach again, so we made a sand lion.
Evelyn collected a whole bucket of sea shells. She found some pretty awesome ones.
EVERY single time we left the beach...
No one has to teach you how cool this is, apparently.

We went shopping at the outlet mall. It was not a bargain mall. I suspect the difference between an Old Navy and an Old Navy Outlet is its location next to Banana Republic Outlet. But we did get a balloon, so that was good.
 USS Alabama in Mobile.
Also, "Mobile" is pronounced "Moe-bee-yull" very Southern.
One of us did not like the creepy steep ladders and echoes of school tours trouncing around.
We only went on a third of the tour because Evelyn couldn't handle it anymore.
 Steering the submarine
Evelyn wants in on that fun
She didn't like this part, either.

Very cool vacation.
